Picture this: American teenagers expressing their voices, acting as advocates for justice and equality, standing in solidarity with Women of the Wall (WOW) as they celebrate Rosh Hodesh in Jerusalem. It is this vision that has inspired Moving Traditions’ One Moon, One Wall, One People campaign.

Moving Traditions, the parent organization of Rosh Hodesh: It’s a Girl Thing! and Shevet Achim: The Brotherhood, is seeking two teen representatives from the United States who currently participate in one of our programs to join us in Jerusalem. We will provide a free flight and hotel to each representative and a parent in January 2014.

If you are a parent of a pre-teen or teen in one of our programs, here’s how to participate:

  1. Register on this site by September 30. It’s free to register. As part of the registration, we’ll ask you to think creatively about how to spread the word about Women of the Wall.
  2. Stay tuned. We’ll choose twenty finalists from all of the entrants. If you and your teen are one of the twenty selected as finalists, we’ll send you an email and ask your teen to create a short video about why they want to represent Moving Traditions at the Wall. You’ll send us a link to the video so that the judges can take a look.
  3. In the fall, judges will determine the two best videos and contact the winners. Winners will travel to Israel to celebrate Rosh Hodesh with Women of the Wall on January 2, 2014!
