Our Tzelem groups for LGBTQ+ teens have been steadily growing over the past few years, with groups popping up in many communities across the country! Last year we had about 20 groups running in a variety of settings — out of JCC’s, at Jewish overnight camps, funded by Federations, and through collectives of synagogue partners — all sending their teens to a community group. As we talk with individual group leaders and supporting organizations, we are hearing that these groups still struggle with recruitment.
