A Listening Heart

Objectives: By the end of the session, participants will be able to: Identify the difference between empathy and sympathy; Identify where empathy is reflected in Jewish values; Practice reframing sympathetic situations they might encounter with an empathetic response; Articulate where and why it is important to practice empathy

Do You Speak My Language?

Objectives: By the end of this session, participants will be able to: Identify differences in communication styles between themselves and loved ones. Reflect on how they best show and receive love, care, and respect. Recognize the importance of non-verbal communication in their relationships.

Jewish Identity

Objectives: By the end of the session, participants will be able to:  Explore the personal experiences and emotions that are connected to Jewish identity.   Reflect on the relationship between their Jewish identity and their other identities.  Support their peers in connecting to Jewish identity.

Family: What’s the Deal

Objectives: To introduce families to the Moving Traditions style of family sessions; To help parents and preteens reflect on what is important to them as a family; For parents and preteens/teens to have a meaningful conversation with one another; Parents and preteens will each describe their own contributions to a family covenant
